How to register

Just follow our example. Maxine wants to receive text warnings for the German postal code 12345. She registers by texting the following message to the service number +49 163 755 88 42: “KATWARN 12345”

KATWARN via email

Maxine can also register to get warnings sent to her email address Maxine@mail.com. As before, she registers by texting a message to the service number +49 163 755 88 42: “KATWARN 12345 Maxine@mail.com”

Re-registering and unsubscribing

To register a different postal code/email address, she repeats the steps above with the new postal code/email address. To unsubscribe, she texts the following message to the service number +49 163 755 88 42: “KATWARN aus” (German: “KATWARN off”).

Status check

After successfully registering, she gets the (German) confirmation text and can also check her status at any time by texting “KATWARN Status” to the number +49 163 755 88 42.

Please note: Text messages will only be provided for locations and occasions where the competent authorities have officially taken KATWARN into operation. In order to register for the text or email service, a national mobile contract is necessary.
